Protection class

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The protection class denotes:

  • Protection class (electrical engineering) , the classification of equipment according to the use of protective measures against electric shock
  • Protection class (bunker) , the classification of bunkers according to their degree of protection against explosions and against biological, chemical and radiological contamination
  • the classification of gunshot vests in their ability to protect against bullets of certain types and calibers;
  • the suitability of an automobile to withstand a certain weapon in the event of an attack, see special protection vehicle .

The “protection class” is often incorrectly referred to as the type of protection - the classification of electrical equipment against the ingress of dirt and moisture.
