The Schwäbisturm

The Schwäbisturm in Thun , formerly known as the "hole tower", was the first Kyburg urban expansion in 1250 to secure the Schwäbistores and the Aare built -Access.

Originally the Schwäbisturm was a square prism open towards the city with battlements, which was later provided with a pointed helmet. The building was partially demolished and rebuilt in 1844.

In 1970 the original masonry was exposed again and reconstructed using the preserved walls and old pictures.
