The Swedish Black Chicken or Bohus-Dal Black Chicken is a breed of chicken from Sweden and Norway that is completely black due to hyperpigmentation . According to tradition, the breed was introduced by Dutch seafarers. A relationship with the Indonesian Ayam cemani is therefore generally assumed.
features
The breed is remarkably small. Feathers, beak, legs, skin, pupils and comb are completely black, as are flesh and bones. The average weight is 2 kilograms for roosters and 1.5 kilograms for hens. Bohus dal eggs weigh between 38 and 48 grams.
