The Swiss Brain League is an association that was founded by scientists in 1995. The association promotes brain research in Switzerland and informs the population about keeping the brain healthy. The association's work is supported by the Federal Department of Home Affairs .

Purpose and goals of the brain league

The association promotes neurobiological research in Switzerland and supports research projects at Swiss universities. It also informs the population about the importance and function of the brain, the possibilities for maintaining health and training the brain, diseases of the brain, their prophylaxis and therapy as well as the status and prospects of brain research in Switzerland. The association supports information and advice centers in the field of brain research and grants direct (financial) help to patients in special individual cases.

Research award

The association awards a sponsorship award worth CHF 20,000 every two years . The prize honors exceptional scientific achievements in the field of brain research. Work in clinical research and basic research are equally taken into account. In principle, the work group involved in a scientific achievement is awarded as a whole.

Publications

In addition to information brochures, the association publishes the magazine “dasirn” four times a year. Donors of the association receive this magazine free of charge.
