Swiss Women's Secretariat

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Swiss Women's Secretariat was the central office of over 40 Swiss women's organizations. The aim was to concentrate the efforts of the various associations and thus give them more political weight. Thanks to the work of the women's secretariat, which opened on April 1, 1944, the work of the association was professionalized and women's interests were represented more efficiently vis-à-vis the federal authorities.

In 1949 the women's secretariat was integrated into the Federation of Swiss Women's Associations (BSF) as an office.
