Swing cloth game in Schwalmstadt-Hephata, Germany

The swing cloth is a large round or polygonal cloth that is used as a play device primarily for cooperative games and activities in groups.

material

The first swing cloths were old (canopy) parachutes . These often have holes or slits, mainly in the middle, but also in other places on the cloth and are therefore mostly only suitable for certain games. The material used for the production of parachutes is an extremely light, but very tear-resistant, robust material and so well suited for use.

For a number of years, swing cloths have been produced specifically for use as playground equipment. They are available in bright colors or designed with motifs. You can get it with or without a hole in the middle. Some are reinforced at the edge with a fringed rope as a grip aid , others have grip loops. Swing cloths are offered in different sizes so that you can choose the right one depending on the purpose and the number of participants.

Game types

  • Mushroom games use the opportunity to create the shape of a mushroom with the cloth. There are very different ways to make a mushroom.
  • Popcorn games are characterized by the fact that various light parts such as (soft) balls or balloons are thrown onto the cloth with the aim of keeping them on the cloth or shaking them off.
