The Scottish Crime and Drug Enforcement Agency ( SCDEA , Eng .: Scottish crime and narcotics enforcement authority ) was a special police in the UK . Their area of responsibility was limited to Scotland . It was responsible for breaking up and breaking up gangs in the field of organized crime by reducing the demand for products from such gangs and skimming off their profits. It was based in Paisley .

Despite the opposite name, it was not a police authority, but an independent police force. In the Scottish police system, it stood next to the Territorial Police and was not affiliated or subordinate to any other, but its employees had the same rights in many areas. Like other Scottish police forces, it was subordinate to the competent minister through the Scottish Police Services Authority . The Director reported to the competent Scottish Minister and was responsible to the Scottish Parliament for financial and administrative matters. Some tasks were carried out in collaboration with the Serious Organized Crime Agency , which operated across the UK. For some tasks the Serious Organized Crime Agency needed the approval of the SCDEA or the Lord Advocate .

organization

The SCDEA was led by a Director General and the Deputy Director General . They were members of the Association of Chief Police Officers in Scotland and formed the core of the Policy Group which served as the executive branch of the SCDEA.

In addition, the SCDEA was divided into different departments:
