Seattle Computer Products ( SCP ) was a hardware manufacturer from Seattle . The company was founded by Rod Brock in the mid-1970s and initially produced S-100 memory expansion cards.

The company was known for its QDOS ( Quick and Dirty Operating System ) operating system , later 86-DOS . QDOS was developed by Tim Paterson and sold to Microsoft in 1981 for $ 50,000 . Microsoft modified this software (now known as MS-DOS ) and licensed it to IBM as PC-DOS . Tim Paterson worked for SCP from 1978 to 1981.
