The Seebad Haltern , also Seebad Haltern am See , is a public bathing establishment, which was founded in 1930 on a part of the shore of the Haltern reservoir .

Today the Haltern seaside resort is a joint institution of the city of Haltern am See , the Ruhr Regional Association , the Recklinghausen district and Gelsenwasser AG under the name of Seegesellschaft Haltern mbH .

General

The seaside resort Haltern has an approximately 800 meter long natural sandy beach with an area of ​​approximately 10,000 m². The bathing area, separated from the rest of the lake by buoys and lines, covers an area of ​​20,000 m² and is divided into a swimmer and a non-swimmer area by additional buoys.

history

  • On April 11, 1930 the Seegesellschaft Haltern mbH was founded with the main objective of building and commissioning the seaside resort.
  • On April 29, 1930, the Haltern Group of the German Life Rescue Society was founded, which is still responsible for the surveillance and rescue service at the Haltern Reservoir.

In contrast to previous responsibilities in the area of ​​the Haltern reservoir, the Seegesellschaft Haltern mbH is now only responsible for the operation of the seaside resort and the leasing of the Seeterrassen garden restaurant .
