The pier in Koserow (2009)

The Koserow pier is a pier in Koserow on Usedom on the Baltic Sea .

The 261 meter long and 2.50 meter wide bridge is supported by 28 steel pipes filled with concrete . It was built in March 1993 and opened to the public on July 17, 1993 by the mayor of the municipality, Martina Jeschek. The pier has a shipping pier from which ships of the Adler Line operate according to the timetable.

In November 1995 the pier was badly damaged in a storm and was later rebuilt.

In August 2013, serious structural defects were found, the pier was probably not built high enough to withstand high waves during storms and had to be closed. A new pier is to be opened in 2020.

The previous structure was destroyed in the winter of 1941/1942 by ice and wind.
