Seefeel is a British music group that first existed from the early to mid-1990s. Since 2008 the band has been active again with a new line-up. At the end of 2010, the band's first release in 14 years appeared.

history

The band was formed in London in 1992 when guitarist Mark Clifford and drummer Justin Fletcher met singer Sarah Peacock and bassist Daren Seymour. They released their first EPs in 1993 under the British independent label Too Pure . The band's music was categorized as a mix of Dream Pop / Shoegaze and Ambient Techno / IDM .

The band switched to the Warp Records label in 1994 after the group's music had become less guitar-heavy and more electronica- oriented. Shortly afterwards, the Seefeelmx by Autechres Basscadet appeared on the Basscad EP . Between 1996 and 2010 no new material was produced by the band under the name Seefeel.

Instead, they publish their music under different names. In 1996 the Scala group was founded by Fletcher, Seymour and Peacock with Mark van Hoen. Peacock made guest appearances as slide guitarist and backing singer on the albums I Heard Myself In You and Motion Sickness by the band January. Until the reunification of Seefeel , she performed with the groups The Gemma Ray Ritual and The Mighty Shimmering Beasts . Clifford has published his solo projects as Disjecta and Woodenspoon since 1995 and founded the duo Sneakster together with Sophie Hinkley in 1999 . He produced remixes for Cocteau Twins and other bands.

In 2003 Autechre released a remix of Seefeels Spangle (from the Starethrough EP) on the Polyfusia label. AFX produced two remixes of the song Time To Find Me (from the More Like Space EP), one of which appeared on the Aphex twin compilation 26 Mixes for Cash . On May 14, 2007, the album Quique from 1993 was re-released on Too Pure as Quique (Redux Edition) , remastered and a second CD with rarities was added.

In 2008, Clifford and Peacock restarted the Seefeel project , supplemented by Shigeru Ishihara ( DJ Scotch Egg ) and Iida Kazuhisa (E-Da), the former Boredoms drummer, who replaced Seymour and Fletcher. On September 20, 2010 the Faults EP was released, the first release in 14 years, and on January 31, 2011 the album Seefeel (both on Warp Records).
