Poor eyesight
Low eyesight is an imprecise term used for various visual deficits and, among other things, stands for:
- Amblyopia - functional weak-sightedness without an organic cause, which persists even with optimal optical correction
- Ametropia - optically related ametropia ( nearsightedness , farsightedness , astigmatism )
- Color impairment - different forms of color ametropia or color blindness
- Visual impairment and blindness - significant visual acuity - or visual field reduction of a circumscribed extent
- Night blindness - impaired vision at dusk and in the dark
- Anisometropy - different refractive ratios of the eyes
- Diplopia - double vision, among other things due to strabismus , motor or sensory fusion weakness, etc.
- Presbyopia - presbyopia (physiological, age-related loss of the ability of the eyes to focus)
- Amaurosis - complete lack of visual stimulus perception
