Seiichirō Maki ( Japanese 巻 誠一郎 Maki Seiichirō ; born August 8, 1980 in Uki ) is a Japanese former football player .

Maki played both ice hockey and soccer until he was 16, before choosing the latter. At first he only played for school and college teams, taking 2001 as a player of the University of Komazawa the Universiade tournament in Beijing which won the Japan. Only in 2003 did he move to the Japanese professional league , where he joined JEF United . After a short attempt he became a regular in the storm. At 1.84 m, which is unusual by Japanese standards, he is one of the most dangerous headers in the Japanese league.

Maki was also a late starter in the Japanese national team . Only a few days before his 25th birthday, he made his first appearance in the national jersey on July 31, 2005. After he had scored three goals in a total of ten missions, he was also included as a supplementary player in Japan's squad for the 2006 World Cup in Germany. There he was used once.
