The Malmström Rope Factory ( Swedish Åhus Repslageri ) is a rope factory in the Swedish town of Åhus in Skåne County . The rope mill was the last of its kind in the region.

Architecture and history

The construction of today's rope works took place around the year 1930. About three to four rope makers used it to manufacture ropes and products for fishing . Mainly hemp was processed , but also cotton . In 1966 the company was shut down. The Seiler Malmström bequeathed the workshop to the Heimatverein St. Annas Gille , which took over ownership on September 1, 1967. In 1968, the association had the 70 meter long rope mill moved to its current location west of Åhus old town.
