Sideways cut

In geodesy, a lateral cut is a cutting method for measuring a new point using directions. It got its name by analogy with the forward cut .

In contrast to this, where the measurement for the new point is carried out from two known points, with the sideways cut one only measures on one known point, but also the angle in the new point.
