Self-assessment manikin
The Self-Assessment Manikin (SAM) is a language-free procedure to record the dimensions of pleasure, arousal (arousal) and dominance (dominance) of affective reactions. It consists of three rows of pictograms , each of which uses stylized figures to capture one dimension on a five-point scale. The procedure is widespread because it is speech-free and can be carried out very quickly.
Quality criteria
The procedure is objective and reliable . A comparison with the semantic differential also proves the validity of the SAM.
