Semperit cliché

The Semperit cliché is a for plastics and rubber products produced cliché , which has a significant contribution to the relief of pressure process moved to itself. Friedrich Trözmüller received the first patent for an elastic printing plate made of rubber in 1926. In 1935 he presented his concept to Österreichisch-Amerikanische Gummiwerke AG (later Semperit AG ), which was later developed as the "Semperit cliché" and used worldwide in letterpress printing.

Patent history

Under the patent number 156722 of August 28, 1926, the "elastic rubber printing form" was registered. Patents 156821 of March 25, 1937 and patent number 156270 of June 30, 1937 dealt with further refinements in detail of the synthetic fibers used and patent number 156535 of January 24, 1938 defined a relief layer as an extension for the basic patent from 1926.
