Senbei or Sembei ( Japanese ) are light brown roasted rice crackers in various sizes. In Japan, they are still quite originally produced and sold, especially at popular tourist destinations. A Senbei is often provided with a picture or a symbol for the place of manufacture and is therefore a popular souvenir ( omiyage ) from trips.

species

  • Sōka Senbei: hard
  • Nure Senbei (Eng. Wet Senbei ): soft
  • Kaki no Tane : a derivative made from small pieces of Senbei that are marinated in a spicy way
