Weida transmitter

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Weida transmitter was a transmitter for medium-wave broadcasting in the GDR in the community of Harth-Pöllnitz near Weida .

The transmitter Weida broadcast the program " DDR 1 " on the frequency 1575 kHz with 5 kW transmission power and used a T-antenna as a transmitting antenna, which was fixed between two guyed tubular steel masts insulated from earth . The Weida transmitter was shut down and demolished in the first half of the 1990s. In the Google aerial photo, however, to the north of the station building, the concrete foundations of the two masts can be clearly seen about 200 m (on the dirt road) and 300 m (in the field) on both sides of the current power line.
