Scorch damage

Scorch damage is an insurance term . It describes locally limited damage caused by heat but without fire or fire . Causes are, for example, smoldering cigarette ash or glowing pieces of coal.

According to the general terms and conditions for household , fire and building insurance, scorch damage is usually only insured if it occurs as a result of a fire, lightning strike or an explosion (possibly also an implosion ).

Individual insurance companies explicitly include insurance cover for scorch damage in their services.
