Sennlich is a peasantry south of the town center of Westerkappeln ( Tecklenburger Land ).

location

The Sennlich farmers belong to the municipality of Westerkappeln , which has belonged to the Steinfurt district since the regional reform in 1975 . As one of a total of nine farmers in the municipality, Sennlich has the third largest area after the farmers in Seeste and Westerbeck. In the north, the town center and the peasantry Osterbeck, in the west the peasantry Metten, in the south the peasantry Handarpe and in the east the peasantry Düte border on Sennlich.

In the west extends the windmill hill, which marks the highest point in the peasantry at 120 m above sea level. The landscape is hilly to the north and south of the windmill hill, it is the foothills of the Teutoburg Forest . Sennlich was first mentioned in the land register of Gut Cappeln in 1689. In the period from 1811 to 1813, during the French annexation of Tecklenburger Land under Napoleon , large stones and boulders were removed from the windmill hill in the west of Sennlich for road construction. There has been a farm death in Sennlich since the 1950s . Since then, the number of farms has decreased significantly, while the area used for agriculture has decreased. For many small farms, agriculture was no longer profitable enough. Farms that expanded through acquisitions or by leasing agricultural land were able to survive.

The A5 hiking trail runs through Sennlich and stretches from the west of the farmers to the east of the farmers in Düte.

The Sennlich shooting club and the Sennlich hunting association are based in Sennlich.
