Service Mark ( Service Mark rsp. Service Mark in short: SM ) is the trademark of the Anglo-American legal system , as well as countries that have joined this law, the technical term for an unregistered service mark .

Service marks that are not yet officially registered in a (at least national) trademark register of this legal group can be temporarily marked with the service mark symbol , which already confirms their elevated legal status . After registration, service marks may be marked with the Registered Trade Mark symbol "®", which is also used to mark officially registered manufacturer and trade marks .

The service mark symbol is a small superscript “SM” that is added after the service mark name. This symbol has the code in the Unicode block Letter-like symbolsU+2120 . The HTML notation is ℠or ℠.

In contrast to the legal term "service mark" has in English- Marketing , the term Service Fire ( Service-Brand or Service Fire enforced).
