from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Serxwebûn ( Kurd. "Independence") is the title of the first newspaper of the Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK), which appears to this day (as of 2019). Serxwebûn is published monthly in Turkish.

The newspaper was designed and went to press in March 1979, a year after the PKK was founded. The first editor-in-chief was Mazlum Doğan . Just a month later, in April 1979, the newspaper was banned in Turkey because it served as a mouthpiece for the PKK.

The newspaper is still distributed in Germany today (as of 2019). The sheet is published and printed in the Netherlands. The newspaper is rated by the Federal Office for the Protection of the Constitution as a propaganda tool of the PKK .
