Sexteto Milonguero

The Sexteto Milonguero is an Argentine tango orchestra that was founded in 2006 in Buenos Aires by Javier Di Ciriaco.

The Sexteto Milonguero consists of seven members: Mauricio Jost (bandoneon), Diego Braconi (bandoneon), Marisol Canessa (violin), Mariano Laplume (violin), Cristian Sepúlveda (double bass), Gervasio Ledesma (piano) and Javier Di Ciriaco (vocals) .

The group plays a repertoire of tangos , milongas and valses from the forties, the so-called Siglo de Oro of Argentine tango . This includes both sung and instrumental pieces. The Sexteto Milonguero also plays some pieces from Argentine folklore , as well as the Cuarteto , which is very popular in Argentina . The music of this orchestra is primarily geared towards the requirements of dancers.

The orchestra often appears in the milongas in Buenos Aires and also makes guest appearances on numerous stages in the rest of the country, as well as in other South American countries (Brazil, Chile, Venezuela). In 2007 the group made their first European tour, which was followed by regular concert tours in the following years. They were u. a. in Belgium, Germany, France, Greece, Great Britain, Italy, the Netherlands, Sweden, Switzerland, Turkey and the Czech Republic.
