Shenasnameh

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Shenasnameh (German also: Schenasnameh , Persian شناسنامه, 'Birth certificate / ID card') is an Iranian civil status certificate , which in German is often translated as a birth certificate . The Shenasnameh, however, is a mixture of identity card, birth certificate and other civil status documents, which has no equivalent in the German legal system. On pages 3 and 4 birth, possibly marriage, divorce, birth of children and death are entered. The Shenasnameh is written exclusively in Farsi .

In Iran, the Shenasnameh is usually first issued at birth. Approx. In 2015/2016 all Iranian nationals had to change their Shenasnameh. All marital status changes such as marriage, divorce, death and the birth of children are still mandatory in the Shenasnameh. The new ID cards will be issued by computer and will no longer be written by hand. The Shenasnameh is issued by the registry office of the place of birth.
