history

The comic is about a fictional lagoon near Kapupa Island in the North Pacific . Enter the two sharks Sherman and his wife Megan . Sherman is not particularly smart and is known for being gluttonous. Megan is a typical housewife and values an orderly situation at home. Sherman's friends include the spiritualized turtle Fillmore and the hermit crab Hawthorne , who is primarily interested in quick financial gain and always throws himself into new dubious business. Also on the friends list is Ernest , who is a clever fish and is used by his friends for things that require brains. Thornton , a polar bear who takes a break in the Pacific, lies on the beach of the lagoon . The sharks have no scruples and basically eat everything that comes to their mind, apart from their friends. “Hairless beach monkeys” that frolic in the water are also often eaten.

The individual sequences are independent of one another, although sometimes a narrative can span several strips.

Sherman paints a poster. Hawthorne: "What are you going to do, Sherman?" "Open a business". He puts the sign in the shallow water on the beach. It says "swim with a dolphin". Hawthorne irritated (opening shops is one of his specialties): “Hmph! What do you know about opening a business? ”“ Not a lot, I think. ”“ Do you have a business plan? No marketing, no advertising strategy, and you're not even a dolphin! You just put up a sign and expect a customer to come ?! ”On the beach, a man notices the sign and comes running into the water. Sherman: Can we discuss this later? Here's my lunch. "Hawthorne, jealous:" You're just lucky! "
