The Shinhan Bank ( Hangul : 신한 은행 ; Hanja : 新韓銀行 ) is a South Korean bank based in Seoul . The bank is a subsidiary of the listed Shinhan Financial Group . The roots of the money house go back to 1897 when the institute was founded as the first bank in Korea to be named Hanseong Bank . Shinhan is now one of the largest banks in Korea.
