The Shoot'Em-Up Construction Kit (SEUCK) is a development system for computer games that can be used to create vertically scrolling shoot 'em ups . The program was developed by Sensible Software in 1987 and was available for the Commodore 64 , Amiga and Atari ST . It has been used by other providers for over 600 published games, and you can also create games yourself. This is probably the best known editor of this kind, especially for the Commodore 64.

Mainly space shooters were programmed as games, but also so-called Shoot 'n' Run similar to Commando , in which the character has to run in a northerly direction and shoot.

The Amiga version, like the C64 version, only offers 16 colors. A successor SEUCK 2 was planned for 1988, but was never implemented.

functionality

In the finished game, the player moves his character across a background landscape that scrolls across the screen from top to bottom. Opponents appear at the top of the screen and move down, attacking the player if necessary. This must avoid opponents or eliminate them with shots.

The editors included in SEUCK enable the individual design of the sprites that form the game characters and opponents, the background landscapes , the opponents' movement and behavior patterns, the sound effects and various game settings.
