Sibelius Hall

The Sibelius Hall is a concert and congress hall in Lahti , Finland named after the Finnish-Swedish composer Jean Sibelius . The wooden hall was completed in March 2000 and has 1,250 seats. The architects are Hannu Tikka and Kimmo Lintula, the acoustics were designed by Artec Consultants, New York. The idea for the hall arose from an architecture competition that included the integration of an old sawmill built in 1907 into the new building.

The hall is the venue for the Finnish orchestra Sinfonia Lahti .
