Checking a dam

Dams , flood retention basins and other dam systems are to be checked regularly by the operator. Since 1995 the results have to be documented in safety reports for every plant . The required content is described in DVWK- Merkblatt 231 from 1995 and also in DIN 19700 from 2004. Among other things, the measurement data of the self-monitoring should be evaluated in the reports.

In addition to the annual safety reports, there are in-depth reports with a comprehensive review (in- depth review ). The safety reports are checked by the supervisory authorities (e.g. the state environmental agencies).
