SierraTel , also Sierratel , is the state telecommunications company of Sierra Leone , based in the capital Freetown .
The company has been offering digital telephone services and mobile communications based on the CDMA standard since 2009 . The government had previously decided to outsource the company's management to the international management company Management and Development International Company in order to save the company, which had been in loss for years. Since then, more than 46 million were US dollars invested.
SierraTel, like private telecommunications companies in Sierra Leone, is regulated by the National Telecommunications Commission .
