The Sierra Leone National Shipping Company (SLNSC) is a wholly-owned state-owned shipping and logistics company in Sierra Leone , based in Freetown . The SLNSC is responsible for the provision of freight services inside and outside Sierra Leone as well as for the associated freight handling , forwarding, transportation and packaging services.
According to the charter and articles of association, the company was founded in 1972 as a joint venture partnership between the government of Sierra Leone and the Norwegian A / S Ocean Transport of Bergen . As part of the ongoing privatization efforts , a joint venture was concluded with the British Nectar Group in 2015 .
