Sierra de Cardeña-Montoro
The Sierra de Cardeña-Montoro is a mountain range located in the northeast of the province of Córdoba , belonging to the Sierra Morena . The area is protected as a nature park, gentle hills contrast with deeply cut river valleys. The forests of holm oak and wild olive are mostly grazed and form a typical example of the pasture forests known as dehesa. Lynx and golden eagles , and occasionally wolves , still find a habitat here. On the western edge of the nature park is the town of Cardeña, from which you can explore the area on hikes.
