Sierre Lions

The Sierre Lions are a street hockey club from Sierre in the canton of Valais . The club has been playing in the National League A of the Swiss Street Hockey Association since 2002 .

Short story

Sierre Lions was founded on May 6, 1990 by school friends. The first friendly match took place in the same year against Oberwil near Zug . In 1994 he joined the Swiss Street Hockey Association, and in 1995 he took part in the official championship for the first time. In 1997 they were promoted to the National League B and in 2002 they were promoted to the top division.

This was followed by the club's most successful period to date. With the rise and the world championship organized by the club, street hockey became popular in the area. A new street hockey facility was built in Ecossia , Pont Chalais and the club had 7 teams and up to 150 members. In addition, he won the Swiss championship as a climber and defended his title twice. In addition to the first team, the various junior teams also played very successfully. In 2012 the club is still in the NLA with the first team and has a junior, senior and women's team.
