The Sigma hydrids are a meteor shower that can be observed from December 3rd to 20th. Up to its maximum activity on December 9th, it only achieved a low activity of 7 meteors per hour.
The radian of the sigma hydrides is about 10 degrees east of the star Prokyon . Because of the proximity of the radian to the celestial equator, the sigma hydrides can be observed worldwide.
