Signature dish

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

A signature dish ( English signature = signature, signature, label, trademark , characteristic as an adjective ; dish = dish ) in the narrower sense describes a dish that bears the unmistakable signature of a chef . In the best case scenario, the entire culinary philosophy and creativity as well as the artistry of a cook or pastry chef can be found in this dish .

If a dish is not, or can no longer exclusively, be associated with a person, but rather a special product of a catering establishment, a signature dish is a specialty of the house .
