Silhouette International Schmied AG is an Austrian company that deals with the design , production and sale of spectacle frames and sunglasses . The company has been a full-range supplier for glasses and frames since 2017. The company's headquarters are in Linz .

Company history

Silhouette International was founded in 1964 by Anneliese and Arnold Schmied. Since November 1, 2019, CFO Reinhard Mahr, CSO Christian Ender, CMO MMag have been at the helm of the family company. Michael Schmied and COO Dr. Thomas Windischbauer. The export share is 95 percent. The glasses are available in over 100 countries. In 2017, around 2.1 million pairs of glasses were sold worldwide for the brands Silhouette, adidas Sport eyewear and neubau eyewear, 900,000 of them in Europe. The annual turnover in 2017 was 170 million euros.

In addition to its own brands Silhouette and neubau eyewear, Silhouette International has also been producing sports glasses under the evil eye brand since October 2019. Silhouette achieved worldwide fame with the introduction of the “Titan Minimal Art” glasses. In 2017, the company developed into a full-range supplier of glasses and frames and the optical glasses are now also manufactured at the headquarters in Linz.
