Simonbank

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Simonbank building is located at Martin-Luther-Platz 32 in Düsseldorf 's Stadtmitte district . It was built from 1968 to 1970 according to designs by the architects Kraemer , Pfennigs & Sieverts . The builders were the property insurance company Simon KG and Gilde-Versicherung.

What is remarkable here is the strongly structured structure, which had to adapt to the surroundings - street alignment and eaves height: “The floor plan had to be based on the given course of Blumenstrasse, Martin-Luther-Platz and Königsstrasse. The height was based on the neighboring buildings ”. The two-storey structure in the direction of Martin-Luther-Platz and Königsstraße was laid out low, it is equipped with brown-tinted glazing and rests on round, narrow columns set at a wide distance. On top of that, another two-storey structure was built as an attic storey set back. This structure is clad with "bronze-colored anodized" aluminum panels and forms the "dominant design element".

The bank itself existed as the Friedrich Simon KGaA bank since 1961 and was merged with the Bayerische Vereinsbank in 1991 . The former bank code 30020300 is now owned by Santander Consumer Bank .
