The Sistema Nacional de Creadores de Arte in Mexico (SNCA; German : National System of Art Creators ) was founded to promote and recognize the creative activities of the arts as an essential part of national identity and appreciation on the basis of a public presidential resolution (Official Gazette of September 3, 1993) .

The economic sponsor is the national art and culture council " Consejo Nacional para la Cultura y las Artes " (CONACULTA). The SNCA includes numerous well-known visual artists and scientists who have contributed or continue to contribute to Mexico's artistic identity with their work.

The funding program includes grants from the national fund for culture and the arts ( Fondo Nacional para la Cultura y las Artes - FONCA ) for domestic and foreign artists and art scholars who are involved in the field of Mexican art.
