Suspend

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

In medicine, stopping means “standing still” or “coming to a standstill” of a physiological process or a pathological process.

The "suspension" of a disease means that it will not progress further for the time being or finally. Bleeding "stops" when it comes to a standstill due to blood clotting or bleeding-stopping measures. Infections can remain contagious for a longer period of time even after symptoms have ceased.
