Rainer Prewo

Rainer Prewo (born November 24, 1945 in Stuttgart-Zuffenhausen ) is a German SPD politician . He has been a member of the district council of the district of Calw since 1994 . From 2006 to 2011 he was a member of the state parliament of Baden-Württemberg . Prewo is an honorary citizen of the city of Nagold , of which he was mayor from 1992 to 2008.

Life

Prewo studied economics and social sciences in Erlangen and Frankfurt am Main with a degree in sociology . In 1972 Prewo was a research associate at the Hessian Institute for Educational Planning and in 1978 was awarded a Dr. phil. PhD . He became honorary mayor in the north end of Frankfurt and from 1980 to 1992 was a professor at the Hessen Administrative College in Wiesbaden , a college for public administration .

In 1992, Rainer Prewo was elected Lord Mayor of Nagold and in 2000 he was re-elected for a further eight-year term. During his term of office, a. the construction of an inner city bypass, the redesign of the inner city with traffic-calmed zones and the conversion of the former location of the Bundeswehr . He also brought the State Horticultural Show to Nagold in 2012. In spring 2008 he announced that he would not stand again and that he would concentrate on his other mandates. When he passed as Lord Mayor on November 28, 2008, he was made an honorary citizen of the city of Nagold.

Rainer Prewo was elected in 2006 for the SPD in the Calw constituency with 24.4% of the votes via a second mandate in the state parliament of Baden-Württemberg , where he was the economic policy spokesman for the SPD parliamentary group . Although Prewo only slightly lost 22.2 percent of the vote in the 2011 state elections , his result was not enough for a new mandate. Prewo is a member of the Calw district council and was chairman of the SPD parliamentary group until he was elected to the state parliament in 2006. He has held this office again since the local elections in 2009 .
