Screen
Skreen ( Irish : An Scrín ) is a town and municipality in the Irish county of Sligo in the province of Connaught . The Irish name means "the shrine" and refers to Skreen Abbey, which housed the relics of St. Adomnán before it was pillaged and destroyed by the Vikings in the ninth century .
The abbey, of which no remains are recognizable, was located on the site of the current parish church.
The area also contains the considerable remains of Ardnaglass Castle , originally owned by the O'Dowd family.
