David Wharnsby

David Wharnsby (born June 20, 1967 in Waterloo , Ontario ) is a Canadian film editor and occasional television director.

Life

Wharnsby began his work as an editor in 1996. He has since worked for television production, feature films and short films alike.

Over the course of his career, he has been nominated several times by the Directors Guild of Canada for various awards and has also been recognized as part of larger production teams. In 2004 he received a Genie Award for his work on The Saddest Music in the World .

In 2007 he made his debut as a director and directed an episode of the Billable Hours series . In 2009 he shot two episodes of Being Erica , which he also worked on as editor in the same year. Four episodes of the Saving Hope series followed .

From 2003 to 2008 Wharnby was married to actress and director Sarah Polley , also from Canada . He edited the film for her directorial debut At Her Side (2006).
