Surname
The name of the castle refers to the village of Skryne , officially Skreen, Irish An Scrín , in which it is located. The place name means "the shrine". The shrine of St. Columban of Iona (Irish Colm Cille ) is said to have been located in a monastery in the village .
history
Adam de Feypo ( Adam de Phipo ), from a family of Norman invaders, had the moth built in the 12th century. Later it was replaced by a small castle (extended Tower House ), later extended by a larger manor with an L-shaped and adjoining square extension from about 30 to 30 meters, and is still inhabited today.
