The Skwer Kościuszki ( Polish for: "Kosciuszko Square") is a public square and park in downtown Gdynia , Poland .

As early as the 1920s, the square was used as a public center for speeches, demonstrations and rallies in Poland. Well-known politicians like Lech Wałęsa and Zbigniew Brzeziński spoke here . At the time of National Socialism , the square was to be renamed Adolf-Hitler-Platz after the Nazi power marched into parts of Poland . However, this did not happen. Today the square serves mainly as a shopping street, recreational area and park.

On August 14, 2008, British rock musician Eric Clapton performed in Poland for the first time since 1979. He played in front of over 20,000 spectators as part of his Eric Clapton World Tour 2008 .
