Slides are used by skaters with z. B. a skateboard on all possible places in street skating :
At a bus stop on a bench , on a wall or on a so-called handrail (railing on a staircase). These include B. the tricks Boardslide, Noseslide, Tailslide, Lipslide etc.

The aim of this sporting activity is to slide along with a skateboard or - mostly specially prepared with aluminum or plastic rails - inline skates on the edges of objects or on the railings of stairs and the like. It is important not to use the rollers, but to do this slide with the underside of the skateboard or inline skate and then land safely on the rollers again.

The longer the slide and the more acrobatic skill is shown, the better the result.

This discipline is probably the most difficult to master in skating and is widely considered to be the most injury-prone. In particular, the impact on the edge or the railing that is to be slid along can lead to serious injuries such as head injuries , broken bones , bruises , etc. For this reason, the experts in this field usually enjoy a high reputation among other skaters.
