SlimBrowser is a free web browser from FlashPeak , the Trident layout engine from Microsoft used. From version 12.0 switched to Gecko engine 72 etc.

Details

SlimBrowser masters tabbed browsing and has a session manager with which certain constellations of websites can be easily called up and the opened pages can be restored after a browser crash.

The software provides extensive configuration options with which z. B. Individual elements of a website (images, sounds, etc.) can be blocked or tracks can be blurred. In addition, a search bar for various search engines is integrated.

SlimBrowser was one of the eleven browsers offered by Microsoft as an alternative to Internet Explorer as a result of legal proceedings with the EU under BrowserChoice.eu .

FlashPeak also has two clones published by SlimBrowser that other engines use as Trident Microsoft .: browser Slimjet , the Chromium and SlimBoat , the WebKit used but is no longer supported.
