Slingback or sling pumps

A slingback or slingpumps , also known as strappy pumps in German , is a wide-cut low shoe , the shaft of which merges into a narrow strap in the area of the rear foot, resulting in an open heel. Slingbacks have a flat sole and a higher heel that varies in shape depending on the style . The strap that runs over the heel can also have a clasp, e.g. B. have a buckle.

Slingbacks never have a clasp or strap that wraps around the ankle. Pumps , on the other hand, are always closed at the back and have no clasp.
