Siemens Smartron

The Siemens Smartron is a vehicle from the locomotive family of the German rail vehicle manufacturer Siemens Mobility , which is based on the Siemens Vectron model. It was presented by Siemens on March 1, 2018.

Smartron of the Potsdam Railway Company

The Smartron is a simplified version of the Siemens Vectron. The vehicle is only offered in a preconfigured version that has already received approval for Germany. Further approvals exist for Romania and Bulgaria. This is to reduce costs. The technical data are:

  • Power: 5600 kW
  • maximum speed: 160 km / h
  • Track width: 1435 mm
  • Weight: approx. 83 t
  • Power supply: 15 kV, 16.7 Hz ~ (or 25 kV, 50 Hz)
  • Train control system: PZB / LZB

The locomotives have been available for order since the presentation date and will be delivered in the color "capri blue" as standard from the end of 2018. The German series designation of the first vehicle presented is 6192.
