Smile line

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The smile line , also called smile line , is a term from nail design and occurs when creating a French manicure . The smile line describes the line that is created by applying the white varnish, acrylic, gel or the white tip to the nail bed. It is only a smile line if the white tip of the nail hugs the nail bed in a curve to the right and left towards the nail fold. If a straight line is applied to the tip of the nail without drawing a curve, it is not a smile line. If the white line is worked to the rear end of the nail fold, it is called a "dramatic smile line".

The origin

The origin of the name comes from the association with a laughing mouth from a smiley face.

advantages

If the customer in the nail salon can model a smile line, nail her graceful looks, narrower and more professional. By moving the smile line to the front edge of the nail, the nail bed can be optically extended. This method is particularly suitable for nail biters.

processing

A particularly even and symmetrical processing of the smile line is considered particularly beautiful. In nail design championships, the smile line is one of the main criteria for a good ranking.
